Corey Taylor recently spoke to ARTISTdirect about the progress of the songwriting sessions for Stone Sour’s fourth album. The follow-up to 2010’s Audio Secrecy is due in 2012, but Taylor says it will turn out to be “an album that no one wants us to make.”
According to Taylor, the album likely will be recorded in Iowa with producer David Bottrill, who has previously worked with Tool, Muse and Peter Gabriel, among others.
Corey Taylor has a busy year ahead of him. In addition to his upcoming solo tour, and 2012 dates with Slipknot in Australia and the U.S., the singer-guitarist said he’s planning to get back in the studio with his other band, Stone Sour.
The first-ever Avalanche Tour featuring rock bands Stone Sour, Theory of a Deadman, Skillet, Halestorm and Art of Dying kicks off Friday, March 25, in Milwaukee. The trek continues on through Nashville, Little Rock, Tampa, Atlanta and more cities before wrapping up May 8 in Jacksonville, Florida.
