Machine Head pioneers of modern metal

Machine Head main man Robb Flynn says his band launched a whole new metal sound when they combined harsh verses with melodic choruses and hooks and he reckons it also acted as the catalyst for a raft of copycat bands.

And he has revealed other acts also copied the equipment Machine Head used on the road but despite this he says they have always taken steps to stay ahead of the pack.
